Utah Discount Lift Tix and....

Heading to Utah for both business and pleasure in mid January. Will be staying in Sandy for the "pleasure" part of the trip and plan on skiing at Alta, Snowbird, and Solitude. Are there any local supermarkets or ski shops that sell discount lift tickets?
Will then be heading to Park City for the "business" part of the trip and staying at the Yarrows Resort. Has anyone stayed there? Any comments to share? Thanks..hope you all head a great holiday!

Smith's grocery store sells discounted lift tickets for Snowbird. In the past Gart Sports has sold discounted tickets to various resorts - I'm not sure about this year. I stayed at the Yarrow several years ago. It was nice - not really impressive but nice. We've gotten tons of snow this year - you should have a great time!

We did get discount lift tickets at a supermarket when we were in Utah a few years ago. Just ask wherever you're staying (we were at a B & B), the locals will know.

Hi BM, I live in Park City and coincidentally used to work for The Yarrow in Group Sales. Advice on discount tickets for Snowbird/Alta & others are correct. Smith's & Garts should help you. Also, Snowbird/Alta now have a shared lift and ticket available if you choose. If you are going to Park City mid-Jan for business - I hope it's for the Sundance Film Festival & that you already have reservations. Otherwise, good luck finding a room! The Yarrow is a moderate hotel in a great location. Typical basic hotel rooms. They have a small business services center, large outdoor pool and hot tub. Small basic exercise room. Excellent, large (for Park City) ballroom which is converted to a real theater for Sundance. I would not call it a resort. If your room has a sm. kitchen, very handy because it's right nest to a grocery store. I wouldn't recommend the hotel restaurant except for breakfast. Way too many GREAT restaurants in town. The free PC shuttle bus stops right in front & it's close enough to historic Main Street. Let me know if I can help further. Have a great time - we have lots of snow!!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I'll head to the first Smith's or Gart Sports I see! I'm very excited to get out there to ski as conditions here in New England are not the greatest yet! Dayle, I'll be in Park City the week after Sundance for the International Ski History Congress Conference. Will be staying at Yarrows. Glad to hear about the shuttle. Are there any good, casual, pub-style restaurants we should check out? We especially like brew pubs. Thanks again everyone!

Lisa - Gart Sports offers discount tickets to Park City. I'm not aware of any discounts for Deer Valley.

Hi BM, great time to come! I assume your Ski Congress will be going over to the new ski museum at the Olympic Park? I have been in yet myself, it just opened. The Wastach Brewery at the top of Main Street is very popular & good! Other very excellent restaurants (read also expensive) are The Riverhorse, Grappa, & Chimayo. Adloph's is also excellent. You definitely need reservations for all of the above. My personal favorite is The Sage Grill - in Kimball Junction. Wonderful food, great wine list, and much less expensive.

PS - there is a Gart's right in the same strip mall as Albertson's & The Yarrow. And, NO, there is no such thing as discount tickets to DV - the word is not in their vocabulary. (Unless you are a UT resident - gloat).
