Urban trek, San Francisco?

Just wondering if anyone has gone on the Urban Trek tour in San Francisco? If so, did you feel safe or ever feel uncomfortable, especially at the meeting spot? Thank you!

Safe? I would venture that a tourist attraction tour would be safe. Which one are you interested in?

Are you aware of FREE tours given by the SF Public Library? They are wonderful and there are of dozens of different ones, that cover many aspects of the city. A donation is asked, but it is give what you can. We have done many of the tours and love them and enjoy seeing the city from those guides who volunteer to show the city that they love to visitors.

You can also tour City Hall for free, that is done right in the building.

I looked at the website - the meeting spot is next to a BART station and a cafe - safe area, I've waited there for a friend by myself, lots of people around.

Agree with Deb: I'd rather do the free tours. And City Hall is a beautiful tour!

Thanks for your replies...I feel pretty comfortable about it. Also checking into the free library tours and a gourmet walking tour. I love walking tours because I can go out on my own while hubby is in conference and not have to worry too much about getting lost, but I don't like the big bus tours.

Thanks for posting about the free tours. Some of them look really interesting.

I love walking tours too, esspecially if I am on my own. I am not so worried about getting lost, but it is just fun sometimes to be with a group.
