Upper West Side Hotels
Looking for a great hotel on the Upper West Side. I normally stay in SOHO/TRIBECA area and Times Square for when I visit for work. Looking for a very nice 4-5star hotel on the upper west side. Thank you.

You might check www.hotels.com for suggestions on hotels. Not sure where you want to be, but I am not sure that there are any 5 star hotels on the upper west side.
You might look into the Trump Hotel at 59th and 9th Ave.

Nothing above Columbus Circle (the very beginning of what could be called the Upper West Side) could come close to 4 or 5 star. Mandarin Oriental and the Trump International, both at Columbus Circle are it.
Further uptown, The Lucerne Hotel and On the Avenue are probably considered the best, and while they are supposed to be "nice", they are not what anyone would call 4 or 5 star. Then again, they don't cost $600 night for a room!

Agreed - the better hotels on the UWS are 3/3.5*. The closest you will get for a 5* is the Mandarin Oriental at the southern corner of Central Park. Room rates are about $600 up - depending on the time of year and class of room/view.
