Islands of Adventure! your 3 yo will love the Cat in the Hat ride and Dr Seuss land. There are some coasters the 3 yo will be too small to ride, but your group can easily split up and regroup. The Studios section can be better appreciated when all the kids are older from my personal experience.

I thought the Islands of Adventure was the best theme park I have been in...so far. What I liked about it were not only the many, many, many ride options for all ages, but the way it was designed. There are any choices for food, and the park buildings and walkways are all decorated and built so that even if you just sit down outside for a break or you are waiting for someone, there is always something to look at and wander through and explore. Even if you do not get on one ride, you will not be bored and be able to participate the experience. Many restrooms, ATMs, etc. I just notice these things and it makes for a more pleasurable day. and you get different worlds, comics, Jurassic Park, Dr. Suess, etc. Have a great time !

Goldamo - If you stay at a Universal Resort hotel, you get front of the line passes for your group. You can use them the day you arrive and the day you check out. Consider calling Univeral to compare "front of the line" with the VIP tour. I understand you stay together as a group in the VIP tour. That means your 3 year old is sitting and waiting while the rest of the group does rollercoasters, etc. With the room front of the line passes, you can split up at least some of time and see things at your pace.
