TX shut down I-10 for >300 miles
I just read on cnn that road conditions from this snow/sleet/ice storm were so bad that TX shut down I-10 yesterday from to San Antonio west to Fort Stockton. This is more than 300 miles.
There is also another winter storm brewing for the weekend so beware if you have a roadtrip planned.

Not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse. Me in my kerchief has just settled in for a long winter's nap...by myself. DH is sleeping at his place of work. Fortunately it is a hotel! I am hoping not to hear from out on the lawn such a clatter that I must spring from my bed to see what is the matter. It'll be the branches of the oak trees, covered with ice, crashing to the ground, a thought not so nice!
Cabin fever is setting in.

The morning news here in Austin says all flights are cancelled until noon because they ran out of de-icer for planes. A shipment of de-icer is expect soon, so hopefully they can reopen at noon. This has got to be the first time in the history of the world the Austin airport had to close for this reason. Usually we only see ice on a plane when the flight attendants spill thier cart!!

My kids were on IM all day with their friends from Austin. Not a single snowflake yet this season in the NY, and many AUS schools and businesses are shut down for 2 days. They're (my kids) jealous.
