Two Ladies in Baltimore - questions?
Hi! My best friend and I are planning on a trip to Baltimore as it's in the middle of where we live. We would love some recommendations of fun restaurants, is there a spa near DT and other activities - it would be for a weekend. Thanks!

Well, you've got the inner harbor, the aquarium, with lots of shops & restaurants.
Our favorite restaurant is Amicci's, which is in Little Italy. You could walk or take a short taxi ride. They also have water taxis that transport you around the various areas.
You would probably like the area around Fells Point where you can stroll -- lots of restaurants & bars. If you like mussels, stop in at Bertha's to "Eat Bertha's Mussels."
Down near the Waterfront Marriott there's a wonderful pub called James Joyce. Nice place with a business clientele.
Can't help you with the spa thingy.

I suspect doing a web search of the nicer hotels and then calling them, they will be albe turn you on to a day spa. Not being a female, I have bought few Xmas, Birthday, etc, etc, gifts along the way. I know they are there just don't know the names. Try the Lord Baltimore or Tremont Plaza

Activities, Walters Art Gallery is nice, so is the Balto Mus of ARt. Walters is a VERY short cab ride from DT. Can walk it in the day light. if you are looking for a nice side trip into the Balto burbs, Hampton Mansion is a US Nationial Park and has a high tea that is very nice. Ft. McHenry is water taxi ride away from DT. Evening activity...check out what is playing at Center Stage. Bars in Fells Point cant go wrong

A few years ago on a business trip I stayed at the Abercrombie Badger B&B. www.badger-inn.com I got a great online deal, that is why I picked it sight-unseen. I was happy, it was quite nice, innkeeper had delightful breakfast with homemade breads every AM, and the light rail was just two blocks away, took that to Inner Harbor in the evenings. It was close to Charles Street, with lots of good restaurants.
