Tuscany Hotel & Casino

My husband and I will be attending a convention in Las Vegas early Nov. While I realize this is very early to book I have to plan in advance because we want to use our frequent flyer miles. I was looking at the Tuscan Hotel and Casino and wonder if anyone has stayed there. Thanks for your imput.

We are staying at the Tuscany on the night of 2/15/04. We booked through Travelaxe.com and got a rate of $55 which seemed really good for what you get. The pictures on the website look nice and it's only 1/4 mile from the strip. My husband and I like to walk (to work off what we eat). We are going also to Palm Springs. Will be back on 2/21 and will post what I think.

Tuscany is 3/4 mile to the Strip (just an FYI because the low temp the night of 2/15 is supposed to be 38, so an AM walk would be frosty!)

Sorry I forgot to reply when I got back! Stayed at the Tuscany for one night on February 15th. It was ok. Nothing to brag about. We walked at night to the Venetian for dinner and didn't mind the walk. We left early the next morning. The rooms are clean and extra large. We had a king bed and a sitting area with a couch, chair and coffee table. The bathroom is extra large with a tub and a shower. There is a kitchen area with a fridge and sink and cabinets but they were completely empty. The casino was plain not plush like the rest of Vegas. We had their $1.99 breakfast in the coffee shop and it was good. We are not gamblers and were on our way to Palm Springs for golf. We landed in Vegas, played golf, went to dinner, slept and were out of there first thing in the morning. We came into Vegas because of the cheap airfare. The Tuscany served our purpose

I agree with Buttons for the most part. Feels more like an apt complex than a hotel, to me.

I recently booked The Tuscany for four nights in April/May. Haven't stayed yet, so can't comment there, but I did some research on Trip Advisor prior to booking. There are several comments on the place, some good, some bad. The major complaints seemed to be distance from the strip, lack of taxis, and not enough towels.

The positive comments involved the large room size, lack of lines at check-in and the ability to park near the units.

We're renting a car, so not having to deal with a mega parking lot miles from the hotel is a plus in my book.
