Tunica

My husband and I will be going to Tunica in conjunction to another trip to Huntsville, AL and plan to go over to Tunica for a couple of nights just to "pull the handles" for a few hours. I need to know which hotel/motel to stay in - best rooms for the value, etc. I don't want a dump but don't want the extreme high end either. Thanks.

Like other gambling towns, the best deals on rooms in casinos go to those who gamble frequently or who gamble for large amounts of money. Since Tunica is so new, you probably won't find a "dump" so there's not much chance of going wrong. In my opinion, the Gold Strike and the Grand would be on the high end, and other places are probably more or less equal.

We stayed at the Grand a 2 years ago. The rooms were very nice and we enjoyed their buffet as it gave us a chance to taste some 'creole' dishes; the hotel/casino exterior as ugly as I've ever seen. It's a huge and sprawling resort and quite a distance from other casinos.
Here's its website; be sure to check out their "special promotion" for low prices on selected dates.

For more info on what's available in Tunica, use the excellent Search Engine: Google at

www.google.com

Type in search word: tunica

Lots of websites there for you to check out.......

My husband and I visit Tunica twice a year. We've found clean, comfortable and affordable rooms at Bally's and Fitzgeralds (although I wouldn't recommend the buffet in either) If you're going over a Friday night and enjoy Seafood, the buffet at Hollywood is terrific (try their desserts)WOW!

Thanks, Melissa - I will probably book into Ballys.

There really isn't a dump in Tunica. I have stayed at Sams, Gold Strike, and Grand, and was happy with all 3.
Even being a non card member you can get a room there on a weekday for about 79 dollars. Weekends it jumps about double.

If you have a players card from any other Harrah casino in the USA, they will probably give you free room at the Harrah's in Tunica.

It's not top drawer, but almost exactly like the one's above. It's set within a group of three. I think Hollywood is one of the others you can walk to. It is not by the Grand. The casinos are set at distances from one another in groups of 2 or 3. Some of them were harder to find. We were just there for a night passing through to MS.

Have a good time and good LUCK!
