A state requirement to carry controlled medicines in the original container?

Can this be true?

It could be true. I know that Florida is battling pill mills and enacting new legislation every week that will do nothing but inconvenience legal users of controlled meds. But that has nothing to do with the TSA, which, again, does not require Rx pills/tabs to be in their original containers.

More complicated than I thought, but still nothing to do with TSA or the OP's question:

I always take my meds in their week-at-a-time containers, not the original pill bottles. Never had a problem.

TSA's mission has nothing to do with controlled substances, they are not the DEA. Unless your medication is a liquid over 100ml or you are carrying an outrageous number of pills, it will get nary a glance, labeled or not.

Thank you for the response. Seemingly, the pills question I asked years ago was a real issue for me because I was trying to follow the rules. However,
I made a decision and stuck with it and it has worked for me since then. Thanks again, RoamsAround.

How many of you have had issues with TSA because your meds are not in their original bottles please?

Not me. Ever. I have always used unlabled containers, ziplocks, or a weekly pill case. Never once been questioned.

No one almost ever. Except for certain restricted drugs original containers / labels aren’t required.

but since the OP is from years ago - there was more ‘urban legend’ false information out there.
