Truro, Massachusetts (Cape Cod) Lodging Recommendation Request

I need a hotel room/B&B/inn/cottage in Truro for one night only (Monday night in late August, 2002) for me and my wife only.

Truro holds sentimental value to us thus we aren't interested in other towns on the Cape.

We're looking for a place that will be under $150/night. We don't need luxurious accomodations, but we're not really into the whole "motel" look. Things that interest us are romantic setting, and proximity to the beach (ocean side, in particular). We'd probably prefer a quaint but spartan shack to a 1960's motel situated directly on the beach. A tiny shingled studio cottage on the beach would be perfect. A hotel or B&B anywhere in Truro would be fully acceptable.

I read about the Moorlands and the Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod Inn. Any tips on whether these are good places to stay? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Your requirements are very restrictive in a town that does not offer a lot of selections for accommodations. This is all I could come up with: The Outer Reach Motel and Kalmar Village.

Horizons Beach Resort in N Truro. We stay there every summer. It is a bit 60's motel but it is a nice place with a pool and on the bay not the ocean. It's so narrow there though that it's a quick trip to the beach.

Good luck,
Chris

Just got back from Truro last night.

I saw many smaller places with vacancies...sorry but I don't have the names.
