Trump Waikiki - still seedy?
6 years ago when the Trump was being built, the immediate neighborhood was questionable, dark and unwelcoming (between the Fort D. park and the real action to the southeast). I imagine it's cheered up, but can anyone provide an update on theTrump property or surroundings?

The walk beside the new hotels is quite nice now. We walked to breakfast at the Shorebird in the Outrigger Reef and then got The Bus across from Fort DeRussy to church on a Sunday morning in June.

We stay at nearby Waikiki Shore (most recently, this past February) and the adjacent Waikiki Beachwalk is a definite improvement from the standpoint of appearance...not so much-so if looking for shopping bargains.

There are a # of YT's specific to the Trump Waikiki, including: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmBwUyZaDQ4

There was a HUGE complete "remodel" of Lewer Street and BeachWalk since 6 years ago. It's practically Vegas-y looking now and squeaky clean. Actually I preferred it "seedy" (which it was not, just a little funky and real).
