trip to southern utah parks and the grand canyon

I am planning a trip for a week to the grand canyon and southern Utah in march. Here's what i'm thinking.

day1-fly into phoenix, go to Sedona.

day2-to grand canyon.

day 3-monument valley, then overnight in moab.

day 4-canyonlands.and maybe arches.

day 5-bryce canyon.

day 6- zion.

day 7-go to lass vegas and fly home.

any thoughts?

thanks.

If you can only go to one I would do Arches instead of Canyonlands

That is a LOT of car time. Like 6+ hours driving GC > MV > Moab, plus the time visiting Monument Valley

You are not giving yourself much time anywhere really, unless you are teleporting.

If you only have a week stick to just one state.

If you try to visit Arches and Canyonlands in one day you will be starting and ending the day seeing things by flashlight.

Remember you should not really drive after dark--there are cows on the road in some places--open range plus lots of deer etc. Not to mention, you miss the scenery. Get out a map and plot how long between each place. These places are not connected by super highways, it is all back roads. One day in each park is just not enough.

True that

With this itinerary you have less than a day in any park and less than a couple of hours in a few.

This will be a very rushed trip with a lot of seat time in the car. I hope you understand that it is winter and Bryce will most likely have snow on the trails, but unless it has snowed very recently the roads should be fine.

You need to have a plan B in case of snow in any case. I'd suggest either a loop from Phoenix for Sedona, Grand Canyon and Monument Valley OR a loop from Vegas with Grand Canyon (south rim is the only one open in March), Zion and Brice OR a loop from Vegas with Zion, Bryce and Moab. Since these are loops, they can be done in either direction depending on availability of lodging and weather.

Be aware that you can pretty much take larger roads between Vegas and Moab and Vegas to near Zion or between Phoenix and Sedona. When you get off the hays, though some of the roads are very small with lots of curves and some steep grades as well as the occasional mule deer, elk, cow or horse jumping out. This means do not drive after sundown and if it is snowing, stop for the night and use plan B
