Trip to San Diego
Looks like I finally got my wish and will be on a business trip to San Diego next week. Thankfully the Padres are home so will go to a game (against the Dodgers - finally don't see the Braves. Nothing against the Braves but have been to 6 Padres games in the past 5 years - all against the Braves). It looks like it may be a Sunday thru Friday trip so it won't be a short one. Will stay at the Bay Club on Shelter Island (we get a great rate thru work). Couple of concerts at Humphreys so may just sit outside at the Bay Club and listen to them...
Will go to the Fish Market for 1 dinner and the Brigantines for a Happy Hour. Any new seafood restaurants? Can you go to the Ballast Point Brewery for a tour? I will be limited on mobility as I have a bad right leg thanks to a minor car accident. Just need to sit for a while.

Looks like my dates will change and it will be Wed to Wed (could even be longer) so I may end up going to the Dodgers game on Wed night but more likely will go a game this weekend against the Marlins (may go to 2).
May stay at the Hilton Bayfront given the price. we can get it through work for $130 per night. Any recent experience there?
Did anyone see the show on the Food Network "Chefs vs City"? Saw it and got interested in the restaurant where they had the entree that looked like a jumping fish? I cannot remember the name nor does the Food Network website list it. Anybody?

It has been over a year since we've stayed at Bayfront. Great location for PETCO. Everyone going to the game parks the same place the hotel guests do. We enjoyed the common space; I just wish you could crack a window open in the room. ( that's my personal issue).
At the time we were there, the service was so-so, but recent Trip Advisor reviews sound like it has improved a lot. For a $130.00- I'd say you are getting a bargain and go for it! Go Padres!

$60 tip for Padres fans -- grab the park pass for 5 bucks, walk around the stadium, grab a cold one, a dog, and lean up against the brushed aluminum counter top that sits right behind the plaza level $60 plus ticket holders. Good times for all.

It's not on Carroll Canyon Road, though.

Indigo Grill is superb. It is one of the Cohn Restaurant Group 12 locations--each one is very different from the others.

Deborah Scott is co-owner (with the Cohns) and executive chef at IG, as well as at Kemo Sabe in Hillcrest and Island Prime/C Level on Harbor Island. She is an inventive chef and committed to providing large portions of interesting food at a decent price. We go to IG and KS regularly, as well as C Level on occasion.
