Trilogy Adventures Maui Opinions

Trilogy Adventures is highly recommended in the books. Looking for some personal experience though! We like the looks of the $99 snorkel trip to Lanai. However, looking for knowledge of the longer day trip that includes a visit to Lanai. Is this too long a day for adults? Is it worth the extra bucks? Do you know anything about the Hulopoe Beach or van tour of the Lanai plantation town. Wondering if we would spend our time and money better roaming on our own in Mau? Sure would appreciate your opinions!!

My friend and I did the Trilogy full-day trip a few years ago. I highly recommend it, but I'm wondering how many days you have for Maui. We had six days on Maui, so it was easy to fit Trilogy in. I wouldn't do Trilogy at the expense of some other things. But I think Trilogy is the best boat company on that island. I hated getting up so early, but once I got going I was ok. We got to the boat and they had coffee and some awesome muffins or rolls ready for us. They REALLY cater to their guests the whole time; it is definitely a first-class outfit. I LOVED the van tour of Lanai with one of the locals. She told some great stories. The time on the beach was nice and we enjoyed some good (maybe not "great") food. We put the sails up on the way back. I enjoyed the whole day, but the van tour was my favorite part. I'll admit it was a rather long day, but if you decide to do such a trip do it with Trilogy. Btw, we're in our 30's, but there were people 20-30 years older than us and they seemed to be having a good time!

We went on the Trilogy. I still have the t-shirt. Had a blast, met great people and our crew was really great. We stayed at the beach, skipping the van tour. Now thanks to Hula Girl I feel we missed out!

We (son then 12, daughter then 10 and myself)went on the Trilogy "Sunset Cruise" a couple of summers ago. It was great! The crew were very friendly and helpful, there were snacks and cold drinks on the way over, different snacks and drinks at the beach, all the beach equipment you would need - bring your own sunscreen! The crew on the boat double (or triple!) as lifeguards on the beach and servers at dinner in the late afternoon before returning to Maui. We also enjoyed the van tour.
I have particularly good feelings for Trilogy, and especially the crew we had, because my daughter, who is developmentally delayed, desperately wanted to snorkel while we were on the beach. Well, the captain of our boat personally took her out, with a float, for about an hour and showed her as much as he could find. On the trip back, he let her stand at the wheel and "drive" the boat when we were not under sail. This is the most vivid memory she has of that vacation and she talks about it frequently.
While this obviously doesn't relate directly to your needs, it is an example of Trilogy's willingness to go the extra mile.
Take a sweat shirt for the return trip. It was quite chilly.

I'm thinking about doing this trip. Sounds great! Any other more recent reports?

We loved the trip to Lanai. The Trilogy is one of the best run boat companies in Hawaii. They passed out the recipes for their wonderful cinnamon rolls, my husband makes them for us all the time. We order Kona coffee on-line from Lion Coffee Company and have a wonderful feast.
