Go west of DC about 40 minutes to a town called Leesburg (off rt 7). In the middle of town there is a Restaurant called Tuscarora Mill. Great food, atmosphere (an old grain mill) and a trendy local pub in the front.

If your husband wants to try something different, goto an Ethiopian restaurant in Adams Morgan. Unique food, good prices, and a fun dining experience. Mostly beef, lamb & chicken dishes.

There are 3 or 4 Ethiopian places in Adams Morgan; my personal favorite is Meskerem.

For a funky meal try Fuzio's Universal Pasta in Dupont Circle. For their menu goto: http://www.fuzio.com/Menus/index.htm

But be sure to try an Ethiopian place for something truly different!

I would suggest Persimmon in Bethesda, MD. Not far from DC on Wisconsin Avenue. It's fairly new, and the food is excellent!
