Does anyone know when work will
start on demolition of the "pirate show" outside
Treasure Island hotel

It's already begun but it's not a demolition, most of the setting will stay the same..........they're just trying to drag it out and make it sound like a big dramatic makeover. Basically still a pirate-like show with sexy women instead of pirates. And they're spending millions just to change the name of the place to "TI" on all the signs etc. I guess they wanna stop paying the fee that they owe the Robert Louis Stevenson estate every year or something.

I heard from an employee that works there in the casino that the show (or women) will be called the Sirens and production looks pretty good. hope to see it when I go in October.

Also, the name change is to "promote" a new image ... Las Vegas is going back to an "adult" and not "family" image.

Praise god...The ONE place I know of that does not (or didn't USED to) cater to 1 million strollers.

If they really wanted to promote a new 'adult' image, they'd rename the hotel "T & A" not "T I "

Sirens will apparently start on Oct 26.

Actually, the pirates will still be there, but the British Navy is being replaced with the sexy Sirens.

I was there in May and the local news channels covered the auditions for the Sirens. It definitely will be a more adult-focused show...
