Travel insurance
Also posted this on the cruise board but thought this board might get more folks on it: we are planning a Caribbean cruise (on Royal Caribbean) early 2002. Have been quoted $104 pp for cancellation insurance and it seems high to us. Maybe we're wrong, but does anyone have any suggestions for reasonable, comprehensive travel insurance? Thanks for any advice

Dear Vicki,
I have used TravelGuard many times and they are GREAT. The price is fair and the policy is comprehensive. It even inclused weather related coverage, and simply change of mind!!. In the few times we have needed to make a claim they were very easy to deal with, and entirely fair. If only there was a health insurance company that was as good!!!! Barbara

Thanks Barbara for your reply. Travelguard's quote is $104 for BOTH of us, we are in mid 40s and the trip PP is about $1500. I do see that if you buy the insurance within so many days of initial booking, they waive the preexisting medical conditions, so I would think this would be a good buy. Thanks for your help. Vicki

$104 for $3000 coverage seems low to me. All depending on the actual coverage. When purchasing trip cancellation insurance, it is essential to see the actual policy. Never, ever, depend on the description of the coverages you receive from the person selling it to you.
