Whew, mms. I am glad I did not offend.

(I am a bit firey this morning - not a good thing - read my Rant on FFR&R, that will explain it.)

Tiff--Don't worry, I can get a bit fiery as well...we all have our moments I just read that rant...that is ridiculous!!! Kindergarten teachers are definitely a special bunch and should not be thrown to the wolves like that.

LOL, GoT! I would not leave the house with my Cajun boy if he were wearing socks with sandals. No way, no how - but to each his own. He's a pharmacist, stands 14 hrs a day, and wears those black support knee-highs now that he's getting up in age (my words NOT his, LoL), and our kids roar with laughter if they're home when he gets in from work and pulls on athletic shorts and tennis shoes and still has his knee his on. I tell him he looks like a little school boy. But he wouldn't go out in public like that, thank God!

Sadly, here in the midwest, there are many, many men who walk around with BLACK socks and sandals on. If you're gonna wear socks with your sandals, at least let them be white!

I'm certainly old enough for reading glasses and SO will not let me out of the house dressed inappropriately.
In fact, any clothing she dislikes, she trashes.
My diminishing wardrobe is limited to jeans, khakis, buttondowns and polo shirts.

I can not properly describe the outfits that come to college now. It's the age of the belly and the tatoo. It has been for a couple of years.

And remember when the butt crack segment on Sat. Night Live (Dan Aykroyd)was such a gauche? Well now it is a daily constant, both sexes. We call it the "other decolatage".

The mentions about Church, yes, but at least they are there. Afterwards they take off a further third of the material and go to class. Overall right now, the look is the most unflattering I can remember- with the layers and the voids. Few look good, and almost all look trashy.

I keep telling them how how my one girl friend's rose has shifted as gravity has taken hold. And of course they often need to wear the backless to show the entire design, despite it being freezing in here with a.c.

One must remember that mms and I live in Portland , Oregon..home of the socks with sandals look..or one of them anyway. But then, there are bare feet in sandals that I would have been happy to buy socks for just not to have to look at those toes!

I agree about the bikini wearing as much as the men in skimpy tee shirts..whatever the sex, the public should not be exposed to the sight of so many rolls of human flesh at one time..imagine the harm it can do to children!

I ,of course, worry too much about how I look when I go out the door, so I am full of helpful suggestions for everyone I see on the street LOL Sadly, no one asks me for my opinion ~

Scarlett, you have me spewing coffee all over my computer!

I had not thought about the toes/toenails.

Luckily there weren't any children around whose minds I may have warped when I was bikini clad in Hawaii. And after some of those delicious meals, I swore my pants button was gonna pop off and put someone's eye out! ;-)

My husband wears his Chacos all summer, and he has ugly feet. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather if for no other reasons than the fact that he'll start wearing socks and shoes again.

Sigh. But he's such a good husband, so I never say anything.

You are sooo good not to say anything. I think twice before I say anything that may be construed as hurtful.
Going on 25 years, so the plan seems to work.

Lucky for me my boys dress ok - no butt cracks- I'm sorry "decolatage" - to be seen.

Now if the youngest would just buy pants that fit I would be very happy. It doesn't help that he's a 30x34. I end up buying 32x34 and they fall down without a belt. At least he wears boxers so we're only treated to some colorful shorts, and nothing that makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

Yes, mikemo, after caring for elderly so much- I have become a fanatic about toenail care (all kinds of toe nail care)and that encludes the menfolk as well. So far, I have them all in line, and they are presentable.
LOL!

I don't mind men wearing white socks with sandals or loafers. In some cases, the socks are a vast improvement over their bare feet.

And anyway, when I was an impoverished student in Paris, outside the Parc Monceau, a handsome Frenchman in a brand new Ferrari pulled up and offered me a lift home. Was I going to refuse because he was wearing white socks with his Bally loafers? No way! We made a date to meet later at the Drugstore on the Champs Elysees; alas I didn't know at that time there were two and I went to the wrong one. By the time I made it to the other one, my date had left. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened had I gone to the right place...a silent wonder, of course, it's not something I discuss with DH ;-)
