Is there anyway besides private car to go between jfk and danbury airport area?

we see one can take the subway to g.c., then catch a train in grand central to danbury, but i was wondering if there are other options i can consider for my daughter and two student friends.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Some towns in CT have shuttle buses that go to the New York area airports. Don;t know about Danbury - it's awfully far for that - but I would check the JFK web site - and also google for shuttles in Danbury/CT.

On the JFK transportation website

http://www.panynj.gov/aviation/jgtsfram.htm

it says Connecticut Limousine (-800-472-5466 or (203) 878-6867
$45-$66) has scheduled service to Hartford, Farmington, Waterbury, Southbury, and Danbury every 1-2 hours 6:45 AM - 11:00 PM.

Connecticut Limousine is the most practical way to get there.

Just an FYI, I used Green light Limo in April to get a party of 12 from Danbury to Newark, and they showed up late, with a van that was so small my sister had to sit on her friend's lap the whole way, and a tank so empty the emergency fuel light came on on Rt 84. They understimated the timing and the driver ran over road debris, damaging a tire and causing us to miss our flight to Rome. I'll spare you the details after that, but needless to say, I wouldn't recommend GreenLight Limo.

On the plus side, in March of 04 I took the Acela from Boston into NYC and picked up the Airtrain, which circles into JFK. The only hitch was connecting from Penn Station to the Airtrain, you have to switch to a commuter train through Jamaica(?)which was a little awkward. It might be easier from Metro North out of Brewster NY (15 min from Danbury. Go to the JFK site and look up the Airtrain, they may have improved that connection since then.
