Tradewinds Island Resort St. Pete's
I'm terrified, I just booked this hotel through Orbitz due to good reviews, then I looked on Travelocity and it got HORRIBLE reviews. I know reviews can be mixed, but please let me know if you have stayed here recently and how your stay was. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed several years ago at the Island Grand; at the time there was also the Sirata & Sandpiper that were part of the resort. I was at a conference in early April. Weather was great; pool area very crowded by mid-afternoon was conference let out. Restaurants at resort were just ok; recommend better options outside of resort - Grouper sandwich at Dockside Dave's in Madeira Beach, dinner at Salt Rock Grill in Indian Rocks or very casual at Gennaro's in Pass-A-Grille.

mom_of_ali, Tradewinds Islands get a 4 out of 5 rating on tripadvisor.com! Some excellent reviews over there ... I wouldn't worry about it! (And if your room isn't right, don't unpack a thing! Call the front desk and insist on another ...

mom_of_ali, be sure to report back on the resort as it's a place I've thought of staying! Also, I did NOT have a good experience at Salt Rock Grill in Indian Shores (that mouseRD mentioned.) I'm in the minority ... many love it, but we spent $150+ for three of us, and I've had better food and service at a fast food joint. But I'm going to try Dockside Dave's next time in the area as we LOVE grouper sandwiches.
Where are you going, and how old is your sweet baby?

Oh, I will definitely report back about the resort! The grouper sandwich sounds great! I cannot wait to try it out.
My baby girl Alison is 1 year... just turned 1 on 1/6/08. So I'm not expecting her to participate in anything, I just want a nice, clean hotel to take her to for two nights. It will be her first time seeing sand. My mother in law will be with us also, so it will be nice! Thanks for your help!
