There are no toy stores in Watertower anymore and the FAO across the street is gone. It looks like there is still one on State south of the river. Check their website. FAO is a great toy store.
Macy's might have a toy department. They have toys on their website. You might have to call each Macy's and see which one has a toy department.

State Street Macy's does have a toy department - kind of upscale though, i think no Barbies. I'd try the Sears on State Street - pretty much across the street. Also, Target in the South Loop isn't far from downtown.
I assume you mean downtown? There's plenty in the neighborhoods, from boutiques, to Toys R Us, to Target.
