Please advise, on hol sept 2006 finger lakes area should we pre book all our accomodation or is it easy to just pull up B & B/ motels etc and get a room for the night etc. we would still want decent places

Keep in mind that the fall colors should be coming into "bloom" around that time..but as I always say "better safe than sorry"

thanks for the tips, looking at wellsboro on the way from pennsylvania is it nice, onto hammondsport or penn yan which is best, going towards niagara via east auroa etc back thru lakes visiting seneca area anyone recommend any towns worth staying the night in? spending our 1st night in lancaster county have accom sorted our last night will be around new hope area on way home to phili airport. open to suggestions

You will definately want to book rooms. Sept and Oct are the busiest tourist months in the Finger Lakes. It may be too late for weekend bookings, but keep looking there are lots of great places to stay.
