Top Five Restaurants on Maui

Going to Maui in a week. Would love to get a random sampling of the top five restaurants in terms of "food and romance." Thanks...

There are several great restaurants in Maui. Our favorite is Roy's. Another great choice is the Hula Grill. Roy's is a little dressier, the Hula Grill sits right on the beach. Be sure to order the chocolate souffle at Roy's!!!

Our favorites are
Roys: great food, not very romantic.

Leilani's: food's good, but if you get a seat upstairs right at the front, at sunset, with the torches burning, you can't beat the view or the atmosphere.

Plantation Club: great food, very romantic

Sansei's: great sushi, not very romantic, but did I mention the sushi<g>

Erik's Seafood Grotto: great food

Pacifico's: very very romantic, food was ok, maybe an off evening.

Bay Club at Kapalua: very romantic especially at sunset, very good food

Enjoy!!

You don't say where you're staying but we liked Erik's Seafood Grotto in Kahana (north of Lahaina). The power line spoils the view but the food and service were excellent both in quality and value. Nice aquarium too.
Please post your results when you get back, will be a few weeks behind you.
Have fun.

Mama's fish house - great food, unbelieveable view and setting. It's pricey, however.

We were in Maui in late March and I agree with the restaurants in the above msg with the exception of the China Boat. It was the worst dinner we had in the 3 weeks we were there. I love Chinese food but this was not good and we saw a lot of food being left on plates by other diners.

That chocolate souffle at Roy's - WOW!!

Just got back from Maui and by far the best dining experience was at the Sea House Restruarant. Sunset dinner by the window was absolutely spectacular. Call early for a reservation.

My favorite restaurant on Maui is I'O's - great food and waterfront atmosphere. Roy's and Sansei are also good but lack the "romance" factor. Mama's Fish House has loads of atmosphere and very good food but is just a bit overpriced IMO even for Hawaii.

At the Maalaea Waterfront we had a beautiful table outside so that we could watch the sunset in the bay. The food and service were incredible! I would definatly go back there again if we ever get the chance.
