Tony Awards - Where to watch?
My sisters and I will be in NYC when the Tony Awards happen. Is there a fun place/bar to watch the award show? We'd love to go to the actual show, but don't think it's possible to get tickets at this point.

I'm not sure, but I would think that one of the better known bars in the theater district--Joe Allen's, Angus McIndoe, Don't Tell Mama--might be a good spot.
You're right about the availability of tickets. Some were made available to the general public a few days ago and were gone in a half hour.

Karen Mack and Michael Holland always do a great TONY Show at one of the Cabaret spots in the city. THey have won the best Cabaret Show for the last 3 years I think, and the Tony Show they do is one of the BEST.
Karen's website would have more info www.karenmack.com. The have big screens to watch the show, and add alot of fun as well.
Hope this helps, have a great time while you are here.

Salty's Mom, are you going to the Karen Mack/Michael Holland show?
I just changed by tickets that I had for 7 PM that night for Altar Boyz to the 3 PM show (Thank you, Telecharge, for doing that!) I've now booked a reservation for the 4 hour (7PM) show at Encore (Gashole?) with Karen Mack and Michael Holland -- known as "Will and Grace with music". For $45 a person, it is a one hour all Broadway cabaret show with two extra "guests" then the Tony Awards on big screen, a buffet, and open bar all night. Sounds like great fun to me.
Anyone else going? If so we need to meet up. Reservations are mandatory.

Karen is a friend of ours so we are planning on being there for the evening. I don't know the cost yet, it was not on the website, I think they are trying to work it out still with the venue.
Karen and Michael are a terrific duo, Michael does most of the composing/arranging and he and Karen both have amazing singing voices.
Hope to see you there!!

Actually, wantsomesun, the price has been set now at $45 for the evening. The website also said that it was cash only, but they were working on "plastic". Yesterday on the phone they confirmed both the price and the fact that they now accept major credit cards.
This is one of those times we need the Fodorite pins to spot each other!
