Toddler-friendly lodging Portland
Hi,
We will be visiting the Portland area with our 1-1/2 year old who is constantly on the move. Any suggestions for lodging in or around portland with an on-site playground/park or within walking distance in a safe neighborhood?
Thanks,
Keith

If you're asking about Portland, Oregon, my first thought is the Kennedy School: http://www.mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=57#null. Great location, but I don't know how "toddler-friendly" it is. Also check out Inn at Northrup Station: http://www.northrupstation.com/. There are a couple parks within 6-7 blocks, and it's in a close-in-to-downtown neighborhood, near a popular shopping and dining district, with easy access to the streetcar.

I agree with Beachbum on the Kennedy School. Good area for letting a toddler expend some energy
If you want a suite type of room, the Monaco in the heart of downtown is nice. The bed area is separated from the sitting area and bathroom by sliding doors. That would nice if your little one goes to bed before you do. There are not parks right by there, but there is Pioneer Square which is a big area that kids an run around in. And a Starbucks there too as well as restrooms down in the visitors center which is in the square.

We stayed with our 18 month old son at the Westin, I'd definitely recommend it. The childrens museum in the park is a great place to visit, and the Oregon Zoo is right there, too. You can catch the light rail train right by the hotel- very convenient and a lot of fun for toddlers to ride!
