Larry & BayouGal, yes, the storm is coming right over us here. Thank you for thinking of me! We had the rains start last night, and they're getting heavier as we speak. The weather guys are predicting heavy, heavy rain for us, with flash flood warnings ... Some parts of the Triangle had some flooding last night.
Larry, did you see on another one of the posts that I was at the Jimmy V Golf Classic on Sunday, and got autographs from Peter Laviolette, Rod Brind'Amour, Glen Wesley and Erik Cole (also a photo with that cool guy!!!) AND an autograph and photo with Roy Williams, UNC Tar Heels coach!)
Is that cool or what???????? (My Panthers are looking good in the pre-season! What about your Bears?)
Larry, we're getting ready to vacation in Florida for three weeks, starting next Tuesday. Pray that the Red Tide stays away from Sanibel and Indian Shores for me! We'll just go other places if's a problem ... we're not reserving beforehand. What are you up to lately, travel-wise? Good to hear from you ...

Hey there OWJ ... so nice to see you!
Life has been wacky the last few months, real highs and real lows, and I haven't been on the Board to chat too much. (Lost two brothers in eight months, ages 72 and 55 ... still reeling from that.
) On the happy side of things, I just had my DGD, 8 years old, with me for almost three weeks, so I'm STILL tired, almost two weeks after her departure!
But we had a grand time, including a trip to Wrightsville Beach for a few days. Before that, we did a trip to Hyannis & Nantucket with our adult son ... a magnificent time, and I still have a trip report to do!!!
How are you doing, lady? Thank you for the good thoughts!

Wow Bonnie: I will pray the storm doesn't do any real damage. Thats really cool about meeting those folks at the golf tournament. We have been back since Sat. from our cruise to Tahiti and I will get around to posting a TR one of these days. Its very nice and some "interesting" things happened. BTW one of our dinner mates, now living in VA. was originally a N. Carolinian.

OWJ, thank you so much for your kind words. The brother that I lost last November was the oldest in our family, then last month, we lost my youngest brother, the baby of the family. With one, it was almost certainly cigarettes, the other alcohol. Both too young, too sad ...
. I come from a big family, and had not seen them too often the last few years but still ... there's always that bond.
My DGD has just moved cross-country, but I will still manage to see her at least every four months. They're buying their tickets for a week here at Christmas, then I'll visit her in the Spring, and she's always here for a long visit in August. I feel very blessed ...
I hope you've had a wonderful summer, OWJ!
