We go to Vegas at least once a year, and this site helps me know what's new, etc. Their reviews are funny, too!

Are you just interested in Las Vegas or do you want to see some of the United States natural wonders like the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park & Bryce National Park?

Las Vegas is essentailly a Disney World for naughty adults - IMHO completely boring.

If you want to see it fine - but do check out some of the natural wonders in that part of the country.

Big tip: make up your mind in advance exactly how much you are willing to lose and STICK TO IT.

(I was there a couple of years ago for a convention and one of my juniors came to my room in tears at 7:30 in the AM. She had been gambling all night and emptied both her checking and savings accounts as well as maxing out her only credit card - didn't even have the money left to pay for her breakfast and needed me to put her room charges on my card. She had somehow convinced herself that if she kept playing she would win eventually - at 21 - which I don;t think she even understood how to play.)

Stay in one of the strip hotels. Bellagio, Venetian or Mirage which is a little older but very nice and less pricey. Book shows ahead of time, the top show is " O" at the Bellagio, it always sells out in advance. Danny Gans is popular at Mirage. I've heard Lance Burton ( magician ) puts on a good shoow. There is lots of information on the hotel web sites. Bring good walking shoes and comfortable clothing, dont worry about getting all dressed up. Most people visit all the strip hotels to see the free attractions. Bellagio has dancing waterfountains, Mirage has a volanco that expodes, Treasure Island has a pirate show. Most of the hotels destinations themselves. Enjoy the US

Vegas is in the USA, but it does not represent the USA. The same is true of Disney in FL and CA.

Oh yes, please...let's get beyond Vegas-Disneyland-Hollywood-Wall Street America and urge international visitors to go elsewhere. What a wonderous land we have as to scenery and culture and history!

Kenneth, can you tell us when you are coming to the US and how long you will be staying? LV is fine for a couple days but maybe you want to see national parks?

I have to agree with all the above. We only stayed a night and a half day in Vegas(Luxor) and we were glad to leave for all the wonderful nature there is to explore in the USA.Greetings from Belgium. Paul

Whether you mean LV or USA - my tip is HAVE A CREDIT CARD. It's next to impossible to get a room or a rental car without one.

Vacation as you wish, but I sure hope you plan to see more of the USA than LV.
