We will be staying at a bed and breakfast for the first time. We will have a private bath, full breakfast and afternoon drinks and snacks. Who do you usually tip ,when and about how much. We will be paying about $200/night. Thanks

You can tip the maid if you like. Owners don't expect tips, of course. I owned a B&B for 10 years and never once accepted a tip. My housekeepers were welcome to, however.

Be sure to ask when booking - often a 15% service charge is added to the bill in addition to the taxes.

Nancy, this may be a regional thing (maybe New England?). I've never even heard of it in the south!

For $200 a night, the service should be included.

You might find a small envelope in your room for the housekeeping staff. If you do, and you feel you have received good service (clean room, fresh towels etc.) you can leave them $2-$3 a day.

Your tips go to the staff, not the owners, so tip according to service, not on how much you are paying per night. Have fun!

I've been to B&Bs where there is no "staff." The husband & wife do all the work. So I wouldn't assume that the person who cleans your room is one of the "staff." Of course, it it's a large B&B, they probably do have staff.
