Tioga Pass in Yosemite -- How to drive it?

Thanks, all, for the tips. Here's an update on what we did.
We drove up and stayed overnight in Fresno. Next morning, we drove into Yosemite wanting to do Glacier Point too, but construction on that road was holding up traffic, so after 15 minutes of wait we gave up and kept on going to Tioga Road.
The Tioga Road wasn't bad at all--very broad and easy driving. It only got a bit steep when you head toward Lee Vining, but nothing too bad. We did a hike at May Lake. Stopped at Olmstead Point and Tenaya Lake. Didn't hike Toulomne Meadows; it's supposed to be all blooming with wildflowers a month or 2 ago but now all brownish. But we bought 2 books from the visitor center there--John Muir's and Obata's.
Although Tioga Pass was nice, but I had to agree with one of the posters' comment that Yosemite Valley is much more awesome.
