Time allowance for dinner before theater?

How much time should we allow for our party of 5 to have dinner (including waiting time), at Carmines and get to the 8:00 performance of Producers (down the block)?

I believe I can get reservations at Carmines on a Thursday night.

Go at 5 to be safe. Then prepare to fall asleep during the show after eating all that very heavy food and wine (I assume).

I believe the minimum for a reservation at Carmine's is six. Two hours would be more than enough time for dinner.

Another suggestion is to eat at Carmine's after the show. We had dinner there at 11 p.m. one night and it was still quite crowded.

After the show might be a good idea - does anyone know what time The Producers lets out?

Than again - we might never fall asleep on full stomachs - the kids'll be fine, but hubby and I will probably suffer from the heartburn of red sauce!!
