Do I need to buy a ticket to get into Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk?

Was just at Downtown Disney in CA., last Sunday, and it is definitely open to the public with no ticket needed...in fact, if you watch the signs, you will find a parking lot just for Downtown Disney where you get 3 hours of free parking, but don't park there for the theme park because the time over 3 hours is VERY expensive! Have FUN!

California or Florida? There is a Boardwalk near Epcot in Florida that is free. The only "Boardwalk" I know of in California is within the California Adventures park, which is not free.

I was just at Paradise Island last week, you don't need a ticket to get in.

It's Pleasure Island.

No tickets required for Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk. Both locations are open to the public and have shops and restaurants.

Pleasure Island is located in Downtown Disney. The clubs have a cover charge and you must be 21.

I got this info from the Disney website. A ticket to Pleasure Island is $20.95.

Admission required to enter Pleasure Island nightclubs. Under 18 must be accompanied by a person 21 years of age or older who has an acceptable form of identification. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter BET SoundStage Club, 8TRAX, Mannequins Dance Palace, Motion and Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a person 21 years of age of older to enter Adventurers Club and Comedy Warehouse. Valid photo I.D. required. All Clubs are non-smoking.

Hope this is helpful.

oops pleasure island.
When we went there were 2 prices for tickets.
The lesser price allowed you into all clubs but Adventurers Club and Comedy Club, or you could pay extra to get a ticket that would allow you into the Comedy Club and Adventurers club.

I go to Disneyland every chance I get. Yes, Downtown Disney is free. I highly recommend going at night . It is so beautiful with all the lights. Don't eat at RainForest not that enjoyable. Jazz Kitchen or Jazz Kitchen Express is fun. Great shopping. Free parking for 3 hours.

Suggestions for Downtown Disney in Orlando - casual dining - Earl of the Sandwich - great sandwiches and salads at a price you can't beat for Disney. Also try Wolfgang puck express. House of Blues is fun with good southern food. Disney Quest is fun but go early because it can get crowded (I'd avoid the weekends) and it's no fun to wait in line to play a game!
