Thoroughly Modern Milly or Movin Out

We a planning a vacation to New York City in December with our 3 teenagers. If we can only see one broadway play, which is a better pick, Thoroughly Modern Milly or Movin Out?

I just saw Millie this week and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen Movin' Out, but many have liked it, too. They're very different. Millie is a traditional musical with a story and plot. The lead actress is absolutely wonderful.

Movin' Out, from what I understand, is dance interpreations of Billy Joel songs. If the teens are big Billy Joel fans, that would be the way to go. Tickets will be harder to come by because it's newer.

I've seen Millie and don't plan to see Movin' Out even though I do like Billy Joel because I prefer a storyline to go with the musical.

Definitely Movin'Out!! This will appeal to teenagers as will Hairspray or the Producers. Although I enjoyed Millie....my teenage son would have thought it was a snooze.

Good luck trying to get decent tix for December for both shows....prime season.

You have to think many, many months in advance.

Another vote for Movin'Out. I think this is the type of show that you and your teens will enjoy. Modern Millie would probably appeal to you, but not your teens. Why not go to a great show that the whole family will love. Modern Millie tickets would probably be much easier to obtain though. You didn't mention whether your teens are male or female. Millie might work but girls but not boys. I really think that if you can get tickets for Movin'Out, you will ALL LOVE IT. Another option might be "Dance of the Vampires". I haven't seen this yet but it sounds like another real high energy show that would keep the interest of teens.
