This is a longshot, but...

..please bear with me.
I was watching CHINATOWN and wanted to know where I can find a quilt like the character Mrs Dill was making in the nursing home. The design, someone out there might remember, was black and white, with angular, tesselating shapes. I want a traditional US quilt-cover, but don't know where to begin.
I know this is very off-topic, but I am frequent poster on the Europe sites and would like you to cut me some slack.
Thanks,

N

I'm wondering if you are thinking of the patten called 'drunkards path'?

Is this it? http://images.google.com/images?sour...drunkards+path

No, but I like it anyway! The design I saw was more rigid. Thanks.

I'll bet there is a quilting forum somewhere online where you would find the answer - but if you find the answer elsewhere, let us know. I'm curious about it now!

This will give you links to lots of quilting resources if you want to poke around for a quilt that looks like what you mean.

I didn't see the show, and can't quite picture the quilt from the description. There are definitely places online to have someone custom make a quilt for you. It's not cheap, but they're out there. The only ones I know of personally, though, make only baby quilts. If you're interested in seeing those sites I can try to dig them up for you.

Actually, I don't remember the China Town visual, but the way you describe it sounds almost like the traditional Swedish design. Check it out in case I am totally mistaken.
