Things To Do In Summit County (Besides Ski)?

Taking my family to Breck for 8 days. Going to ski 5-7 of those days, and wanted something to do on the days we're not skiing. Have a wife, 7 yr old boy and 5 yr old girl. Any thoughts?

Spent a year with friends about 15 years ago, but haven't been back since.

Thanks!

you can go ice skating in breck, keystone or vail. there is tubing.
you could try a dog sled or snowmobile tour. (www.alpinesnowmobiles.com or www.goodtimesadventures.com or www.aspencanyon.com)
or a snowcat tour. www.novaguides.com
there is a dinner sleigh ride to a rustic lodge and one to an 1800's place with miners and dance hall girls. (www.brecksleighrides.com or www.nordicsleighrides.com)
how about a surprise afternoon at a spa for your wife...

There is a park. It has a nice slope and also served as a dog park. It is close to the post office in Breck. A lot of kids would sled on that slop after snow.

Visit Vail.

Are there spas you would recommend for summit county? Doesn't have to be super high end.... Mom & 2 preteens coming out 4/10th. Thanks.

Vail is an easy day-trip from Breckenridge (barring a blizzard!). Spas are there and in Beaver Creek, I think.

If you have a car, the Spa I go to is called a Tranquil Soul in Dillon. It is very reasonably priced. Otherwise I've heard amazing things about the Lodge and Spa on Boreas Pass (overlooking Breckenridge). It's expensive, but I've heard the views and service is worth it. But you'll find spa's in most of the larger hotels.

Thanks for the tips .... I'll likely try one of those spas.
