Walk around a really interesting little town. Take the Yukon & White Pass railway trip. Book a bus tour into the Yukon.

Our salmon bake was in Tok where we spent the night netween Skagway and Anchorage. Take your chances. Many years ago when we spent a couple of nights in Skagway there was a huge difference netween day time Skagway when cruise ship was in port and when all the cruise passengers were gone. Exploring Skagway depends on your choices. I still treasure and almost daily use the ulu knofe amd chopping bowl I bought in one shop that featured local artists. The ulu handle is part of an antler. I also walked out of town to a quilt shop that might not be there anymore. Had a great conversation with the owner about the quilt classes she ran. Quilters would arrive on the ferry for the weekend.

I think my favorite meal in AK was halibut bites at a family restaurant. Or the fish supper and dinmer show at a restaurant where we were probably the only tourists. Hobo Jim was the entertainer but he is gone now. You canhear his music on youTube. He used to sing the Iditarod song at the mushers banquet.
