To Sam Who: While I am very opinionated, indeed, and have very strong opinions about many subjects, I can assure you that I am not the least bit related to demented "Sam" -- God forbid!!

By the way, Sam Who, I have eaten at Spago Beverly Hills no less than 2,000 times this month -- breaking "Sam's" record by a long shot! And if you will be just a little bit nicer to me I will personally ask Jack Nicholson to get you a reservation this Saturday evening! HA!!

Amy,

In between your days trips to 'must see' places, make sure to drive up and down the coast to enjoy the awesome views. If you drive north from San Clemente, you will go through Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach. There are some great restaurants, stores, galleries, and beaches. It sure beats sitting in traffic in the pounding heat. If you have a knack for the ocean, head up to Newport Harbor and rent a sailboat or take a harbor cruise. If you golf, definitely bring the sticks! Lots of local courses to take up your time. Mostly, just enjoy your surroundings, San Clemente is a wonderful beach community. Too much driving might stress you out on your vacation. If money is not an issue, have dinner at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna. The Getty Museum is a great day trip, but remember to make a parking reservation. Enjoy!

Jim,
Thanks so much for the great suggestions. Thank you also for getting back to the subject at hand!
I will definitely schedule some time in our trip for that drive you are describing. It sounds beautiful. We also look forward to shopping & picture taking, so that suggestion is very appealing.
Thank you for your advice. I will be sure to post a "review" upon my return!
Amy
