The Cloister...help me!
My husband and I are looking to stay at the Cloister for our 1 year anniversary. Has anyone been there recently? We'd be going the first week in September.
I haven't been able to find many reviews of this hotel, so please help me!

It's a very nice place, with good service, and attentive staff. It's an old-fashioned golf resort. Good (main) restaurant. Beach is okay, but not as nice as Florida beaches, and you have to drive to get there. The resort is on water, but it's not the ocean; it's an inlet. It's expensive, but I guess you know that. The "standard" rooms are, well, standard and nothing to write home about.
The Cloister, as do most large resorts, relies heavily on convention business.
I must confess: I'm not a large resort lover, so keep that in mind. But I've never had a bad time there.

There's more than one hotel called "The Cloister," so Susanb was trying to help out kelly by getting her to specify which one.
There's also the possibliity that Susanb has been to another one (I've been to the Cloister hotel in Boca Raton) but didn't want to write up a lot without checking first.
