Renting condo on big island-anyone stayed at any of these?
Our family (husband, 2 small children, mother in law and myself) are traveling to BI in December and realize now that renting a condo on a hotel property may make the most sense. Have been in contact with several lovely owners on vrbo. Has anyone rented at....
Four seasons
Mauna Lani (Villages)
Mauna Kea
Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what you want. The most upscale is the Four Seasons. It is a beautiful property that has a well kept look about it. The golf course is spectacular. The path along the coast makes for wonderful hiking. Four Season is generally the most expensive resort, but top shelf amenties. This resort offers the least in ocean access unless you are close to kukio beach which is just outside the resort propertylines.
Muana Lani, has the most interesting and imo beautiful property on the kohala. It has a jungle feeling in places with big trees and shrubs and super fish ponds. The resort feels a little overbuilt. Great hikes here, the resort offers top notch amenities. Better ocean sports here than at either 4S or Muana Kea.
Muana Kea. The property landscaping is more in the 4S style, grass and palm trees and more open space with vistas. The MK has the best beach on the Island. So if white sand and calm waters are important, this is the place. The resort is on a small bluff overlooking the beach, very interesting. The MK has super amenities and it is close to equal 4S if one is looking for the protypical Kohala Resort. MK also has top notch amenities.
