Thanksgiving in Los Angeles

Ok, I admit I live here, but I've always done Thanksgiving at my parents home. My dad passed away this year, and I'm thinking that it might be better to do dinner out (there's only 3 of us) rather than do the whole dinner thing. Any ideas where? We all live in different areas, Newport, Arcadia and Studio City, so any area is good. (oh, and it's my birthday that day too!)

Thanks for the suggestions!!

The steakhouse in the Hilton Checkers, downtown, is really good. Also had a great Latin meal at a spot owned by the women that have Border Gill, I can't recall the name (was in June), but was walking distance from the Hilton, I think on Figeroa

What about the Landham Hotel in Pasadena? (formerly the Huntington Sheraton) The grounds are just beautiful and the restaurant is very good. I am sure they will have a great Thanksgiving dinner.

So sorry for the circumstances of your need for a plan, but I hope our experience is of some help....

A few years back, we were having Thanksgiving in LA with our son who is a vegetarian. We opted for the latest seating at the champaign brunch at Loew's Santa Monica. The setting was lovely, the food was superb and all tastes could be accommodated.

Our reservation was at 1:45 if I remember correctly, which meant we were finished before 4:00 and could go for a nice stroll afterwards.
