Thank you, Delta!
I have had a lot of problems with Delta in the past, but they deserve a pat on the back for this one.
My husband and I were due to fly to Germany to meet our son as he returned from Iraq in early February. Then the Army started extending his leaving date and when I first called Delta, they were adamant about our paying $200 per ticket EACH time we had to change them!
This evening I spoke to a very nice Delta rep who said that is no longer Delta's policy, and my tickets will be changed at no cost to us as soon as we get a new date. Now THAT'S customer service!

Postal, that is nice to hear. Good for Delta! And sure hope your son gets to Germany soon. BTW, make sure you have documented the date, time and the name of the Delta Rep you talked to. Also believe the airlines also document everything in their computers.
May you all be together soon!

Delta recently abandoned it's 'no waivers' policy in favor of what they're calling first point of contact service, in order words enabling their front line employees to do what they think is appropriate for the situation. I hope this is the result of the recent change in policy/attitude and that such instances will become more common
