Temperature in Vegas and P. Springs

Hello Everyone! We are a thankfully retired couple in their early 60's travelling from U.K.looking forward to a second visit to Las Vegas in Mid September, then on to Palm Springs. I am seeing messages that say stay clear of these places in August so is the weather in September therefore so very hot.

Mid-September in the desert is still pretty hot. If you're not used to it, you can curtail your outdoor activities during the light of day and go outdoors at night. Which is what I do anytime I'm in the desert during the summer (and I go to the desert year-round).

It could easily be 41c. in September. That is about 105f.

Maybe even hotter. I have been there and it is a dry heat but it is still really hot. Dry, hot and sunny.

Did I mention hot?

Here in Las Vegas in September, it's beginning to cool off - by that I mean that it's probably only 100 -105 or so in the day and the nights may drop to 85. But it's still hot. And sometimes we get tremendous thunder storms - but hey, as long as you're safe inside a casino you'll need a sweater anyway because the a/c runs at full blast!

if you plan on staying in the casino's during the day, vegas is alright as it is short walks between the two. and you can go relax in the pool for a while in the afternoon. palm springs - usually pretty hot by around 10:00 a.m. again, if you want to enjoy the pool and lay in the shade, it's relaxing - i like it. but, don't plan on doing too much moving around. can spend an afternoon going up the tram which will be cooler. if you don't like heat, change your plans some.

If you have any flexibility in your schedule I would suggest deferring a visit to the Palm Springs area to the last half of October. The weather is usually amazing---warm, clear days and cool nights. Otherwise, September can be pretty tough...
