JOESORCE above mentions UA for $89 from ATL to LAX one-way with no R/T req., well AA has the same deal from FLL(Ft.Lauderdale) to LAX for $99 one way, no r/t req. All the Panama canal cruisers may want to look at that.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the British Airways $20(mistake) last year. They honored the fare. Some of my friends were actually upgraded to business on that fare, since the planes were full at that time.

Granted, it was a while ago - 1978 I think, but my wife and I took advantage of a special Eastern was running that allowed unlimited flights within a 21 day period for $299. We took advantage of it from Philly to San Juan, on to Antigua for a few days, then to St. Martin for a few days, and finally to Barbados for almost a week. Then back through San Juan and on to Philly. First time we had ever taken a 2 week vacation. We felt pretty special.
I might just go over to Expedia and price that itinerary today.

When I was in high school (about 6 years ago) my parents flew us from Atlanta to Albequrque (spelling?) for $65 round trip. It was such a good deal we turned our yearly family outing into a tour of New Mexico. Living in Atlanta my parents hear many good deals from Clark Howard and his radio show. If you live in Atlanta or want to fly to Atlanta check out www.clarkhoward.com - the website stays up to date on awesome deals to and from Atlanta. It also has alot of "consumer reports" type information.

July 2003. Three adults. Tampa to Salt Lake City on American. $120 RT per person. All the way to the airport I was thinking that we would get there and find out there was some terrible misunderstanding. It was the real deal. One for our personal record books.

It was called the "$99 Chicken Feed Fare" on Braniff from Ft. Lauderdale to Denver (round trip)... waaaaay back in the late 70's. My entire trip from Ft. Laud. to Fairbanks, AK cost about $350 r/t. I remember it cost me more to paint my car than to fly to Alaska LOL!!

In 1994, USAir had a $29 each way fare from D.C. to Louisville, KY, among other places. As I remember, I paid $62 for a ticket with tax, but it must have been $72, but no more.
I flew out Saturday morning to see the Breeders Cup horse races at Churchill Downs and then return that night. On the outbound trip connecting in PIT, my sister in Pittsburgh brought my teenaged nephew (now an Iraq war vet) out to the USAir Club where played chess as I waited for the connection. On the way back, the plane from Lousville was going on from PIT to NYC. A couple of the jockeys were on the plane, among them was Julie Krone! I can't believe I was too chicken to get her autograph, had plenty of opportunity in the PIT terminal.
