Tell me about Pikes Street market...

Pike's is a peak. Named after Zebulon Pike. Not the same Pike.
Pike is a street. Pike Place is also a street, an extension of Pike Street.
The only "Pike's Market" I could find is in Maine. Maine is a State.

I was there just last weekend. Hit a fruit stand right in the center of the market where a vendor was handing out slices of peach. I put it in my mouth and immediately said, "ohmyGod!". Where upon the vendor smiled and pointed to the sign above the peaches that read, "Oh My God Peaches". hahaha SERIOUSLY! And they were OMG peaches! I took three and also three pears. I told him the pears were for a salad, so a little firmer please. He did a good job of picking me out some great fruit. Wasn't cheap (I paid 9 dollars for 6 pieces of fruit), BUT well worth it. The peaches were not only the best I've ever had, but aesthetically, the most beautiful blush color I've ever seen.
We also had great drinks and desserts at a place called "The Triple Door". Excellent. It is right up from the market at 216 Union. It is a music venue with different areas. We sat in the bar right off the street and an excellent jazz trio set up and played just after we sat down. As I said, the specialty drinks (designed by their bar staff and named by each) and desserts were awesome!

I was holding my tongue ;-)
Usually people get yelled at immediately for getting the name wrong (and I didn't want to yell at Heavens).
The name is: The Pike Place Market, fondly called "The Market" or even just "Pike Place".
There's no *s* there never was one, we were just being friendly so as not to scare off anybody.

Heavens, If his house-sit is 11 blocks from the Market, it has to be downtown somewhere (not out in the surrounding neighborhoods I mentioned above). So any downtown recommendations will work.

Don't worry about correcting me. Better than going to Seattle and having someone do it to my face.
I correct people all the time about travel names. Think you should so they don't look stupid anymore...
Don't mind at all...
