Tangier Island
Tangier Island, VA ia located in Chesapeake Bay and is accessible only by boat or small aircraft. It has a distinct dialect, a traditional way of life (crabbing), and a quaint Old World ambiance according the Google AI. Has anyone visited this remote island?

We visited Tangier on a day trip as part of our long weekend on Virginia's Eastern Shore; there is a boat from Onancock (Virginia) and one in Maryland.. Entirely charming. We took a crabbing tour and picked up some crab cakes to take back to our airbnb. Every glance around is like its own postcard.

Those islands sound very interesting and not too difficult to reach. There is one famous for its yellow multi-layered cake..Smith Island. (Not sure the cakes are baked on the island any longer, though)
Until recently, I believe, people on them spoke a version of Elizabethan English.
