Taking the PCH
We will be driving from Yosemite and want to spend the day in San Fransciso and see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. We will be taking the PCH all the way to Seattle in 3 to 4 days. Would like to know what places we should stop and visit. I have heard there are some beuatiful waterfalls and views. It will just be my husband and me.

first of all we don't call it the PCH - that really only means the bits in the southern part of California.
If you mean to take CA Hwy 1 and US 101 all the way from SF to Seattle you'll need more than 3-4 days. It is a very long way and there are sooooo many places to stop.

You might want to repost with a new title since you haven't gotten much response - maybe SF to Seattle recommendations, or something along those lines. That way people who know something about the area will click on your post.

It can be done in 3 or 4 days (4 preferable but not required.) Note you didn't say when, so daylight and weather can be rather variable.
Day 1 - SF to Mendocino using SR 1. Beautiful drive, Mendocino is a very picturesque town; several films have been shot thereabouts.
Day 2 - Mendocino to Gold Beach, Oregon. Stop at various Redwood groves; Founders Grove if nowhere else. Lunch at the Samoa Cookhouse in Samoa, west of Eureka.
Day 3 - Gold Beach to Astoria or Cannon Beach, Oregon. Various pull-outs along the coast, especially between Gold Beach and Bandon, then again from Florence to around Lincoln City. Don't miss Heceta Head Lighthouse, Depoe Bay.
Day 4 - Cannon Beach/Astoria to Seattle. Cross the river at Astoria then follow the north bank east to I-5 at Longview, then I-5 to Seattle, around 2 1/2 hours.

My favorite place to visit is Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and hike up Fern Canyon. We always have a picnic lunch overlooking the beach and the elk herd that hangs out there. It is located about half way between Arcata and Crecent City...north of Orick on 101. See http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=25172
