Sympathy Blizzard Cocooning

It's such plain cold here in Missouri, but I have sympathy for all you winter weather fodorites that have stocked up on pate, wine and movies.

In honor of your plight in this blizzard, I too, will toast your hardship with a glass of Pinot Noir and plan my film fest for this evening. The fireplace is blazing and I'm watching the snowy weather report on CNN. Wow.

Support your fellow snow bound Fodorites and give them some sympathy cocooning!
Keep safe everyone!

Thanks for the empathy, beachkomer,

You would be surprised at what happens when blizzards last for more than 2 days and people really get stranded etc. Mid-city cornor drug stores turn into our own filmfest. Kind of like the "Bus Stop" via Marilyn but with a whole lot more clothes, frozen wet hard as rock clothes. But everybody is your best friend. I wish we could bottle it for the sunshine days, so that we all could pull together.

No accident that my baby was born 11 years after his previous sibling and in Oct. 1979. LOL! A lifetime laugh that one. My applewood fire has just started also.

We dodged the bullet with only 4". Plenty cold though. I just watched the news and I feel for you Fodorites who have it much worse. I raise my glass of cabernet to you...

Co-cocooning = Blizzard Babies!

Crack open that bottle of wine and
instead of travel brochures this year,
Babies-R-Us catalogs....

Cheers!

Hey beachkomer- it is supposed to be up in the mid 50's here in St. Louis mid week......Can't wait.
DH missed a flight to London today becasue of all the snow up in Chicago and beyond.
Hunker down and watch a good movie with your loved ones and stay warm those of you caught in the blizzard.

I'm sitting here in the breezy, yet warm, Caribbean and I definitely sympathize with all you Fodorties going thru this blizzard. All my US channels are out of NYC, so I'm keeping tabs up that way as well as other areas since I have family and friends spread out in the northeast and midwest.

Stay safe and warm! Check in with us when you can.

well, i know we all complain about the weather, and where I live in MO, if you don't like the weather, wait a day...ha.
I like having Four Seasons. It's a nice change, the year is divided...I don't think that I could live where it's 72 all year. Our favorite time of year is when the leaves turn and we begin to put chili into our meal rotation. The days turn crisp...
For the people on board in southern US, you don't really get to experince the shift of bringing sweaters and fleece out. I love the beach, but need my four different seasons.
