Swing Dancing in NYC?

About three years ago we were in NYC and went swing dancing at Irving Plaza. Their website doesn't show that they offer this anymore. We will be visiting NYC next week and would like to go somewhere nice similar to Irving Plaza were we can go swing dancing. Does anyone have suggestions?

I'm sure the locals and regulars to New York will have suggestions, but a few years ago we "wandered" into Swing 46 on 46th Street on a Monday night. There was an open group swing dance lesson from 9-10 and then a swing band played after 10. It was a great time with a nice crowd of people all different ages ... seemed like lots of locals rather than tourists. We also had a pretty good dinner there earlier in the evening.

Call the Swing Society of NY 212-696-9737 re the dances at Irving Plaza and Jack Rose @ 50th St. & 8th Avenue.

Check out this website for other places that feature swing dancing:

You might have a hard time finding much swing dancing in NYC these days. It was really popular a few years ago, but it seems to have pretty much died out as something you will just happen upon without some serious research.
