Swim with Manatees near Orlando?
Has anyone swam with manatees recently near Orlando? I am looking for a group tour. I will have a car so do not need transportation from Orlando. I am also looking for a good place to stay near the swim. Thanks!

You can view the manatees up close at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park without getting in the water with them. I have an issue with swimming with wild manatees, but it is still legal in sections of Crystal River. If you decide to do it, please, please please abide by the rules, and do not touch them in any way. They are wonderful creatures...to watch only!
There is another viewing area when the weather is colder, but so far this year, it has been quite warm, and the ones I see in St Pete have yet to migrate as a result. The Tampa location is the TECO plant. They do a terrific job of maintaining their site for public viewing. http://www.tampaelectric.com/manatee/
