Sunrise in Asheville, NC

Anyone of you noticed the most magnificent sunrise this morning? I am new to this area but my husband and I traveled many places all over the world. I have to admit there was only one place where we observed more amazing sunrise. We witness nice sunrises in Hawaii but Hawaiian sunrises don't even come close to what we had this morning. How often Asheville/Flat Rock area is so lucky to witness such amazing show?

A nice sunrise does get you ready for a new day, doesn't it? Here is a link to a sunrise I photographed near Asheville a few years ago.

Dan, thank you for sharing your gorgeous photo. May I ask about a location you took it from?

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I am not sure of the location. We had just started westward on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville. It was a very foggy morning. We had gone just a few miles when all of a sudden it became clear. I jumped out of the car just as the sun was coming up. Another photographer already had a tripod set up there.

Thanks SO MUCH for the Rays Weather link! That's a new one for me. LOVE IT! Currently 26° on Beech ... yikes ... bet there are a lot of frostbitten skiiers today!

I also like www.skinorthcarolina.com because they have webcams around the high country so you can SEE what the weather is like up there.
