On Sunday? Eastbound? Shouldn't be a problem at all. It is the westbound traffic and later in the day that could be worrisome. If necessary a lane of traffic might be "turned" but that should not be too much of a worry.
If you are planning to use Rte 404/Rte 9/Rte 1 be careful with the possibility of speed traps and turn your lights ON.

Agree with Dukey for the most part. However, I was on the bridge eastbound last Saturday, and the idiots at the MTA decided to keep a lane closed long after an accident was cleared, thus causing a horrendous backup. So, listen to WTOP-FM (103.5), as they have traffic reports every 10 mins & often report on the Bay Bridge status.

Thanks so much especially for the speed trap and lights info. Someone told me there could be a lot of day trippers which could make it slow eastbound early in the morning. I think most rentals are Saturday to Saturday so we won't be competing with that. Our plan is to leave Silver Spring around 10:30 and hit the bridge around noon.
